As the President, Owner and Responsible Engineer of RES, Mr. Esfandiari is responsible for: project proposals, client needs, job delegation, execution and follow through, final completion of projects, and meeting of goals and deadlines. Ross is well known and respected throughout the industry. Typical projects include:

As one of the principals of AME, responsible for project proposals and client needs, project execution by delegation and follow-through, completion of projects, meeting of goals and deadlines. Typical projects are listed above and were related mostly to design and consulting for concrete steel, wood and masonry structures and retrofit and repair of concrete buildings.

1983 – 1993 Testing Engineers, INC. (TEI), Oakland, CA
  • Executive Vice President Member of the Board of Directors and responsible for planning and management of testing and inspection (T&I) and consulting departments (staff of 65), including Consulting Engineers, Santa Clara Engineering Lab, Pavement Management, Santa Clara Soil and Metallurgical Laboratory, Non-Destructive (NDT) Laboratory and Roofing Departments.
  • Vice President Consulting Division Manager. Responsible for project execution as outlined below, by managing staff of 15 full-time and ten part-time engineers.
  • Senior Engineer Consulting Division. Responsible for project proposals, client needs, job delegation, execution and follow-through to final completion of projects, and meeting goals and deadlines. Typical projects were as listed above, and primarily concrete material related.
  • Field Inspector Testing and Inspection Divisions. Responsibilities included quality control, testing and inspection of concrete, steel, masonry and wood framed buildings (Senior Engineering Technician II). Specialized in pre-stressed concrete structures. Resident field inspector on 15 major commercial buildings, including structural steel, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete and structural masonry.


1977 – 1983 Freyssinet International, Paris, France Branch Manager

Responsible for project execution, through managing a staff of 40 engineers, technicians and draftsmen. Projects included preliminary and final design, cost estimating, and construction supervision of various types of pre-stressed concrete structures such as: bridges; commercial, industrial, and residential buildings; stadiums; water tanks and dams. Assisted in developing software for analysis and design of pre-stressed, post-tensioned, segmental box-girder bridges.

1975 – 1976 (summers) Pell-Frischman & Partners Consulting Engineers, London Staff Engineer

Design engineer responsible for analysis and design of multi-story high-rise and low-rise concrete and steel-framed structures.
